Top 2023 College Football Teams for Each Conference
NCAAF Conference to win odds are out. Some favorites look like locks to win it all. Others appear to be overlays. Check out analysis of the favorites for each NCAA contest from the American Athletic to the SEC and to C-USA.

American Athletic Conference
- 2023 College Football Conference Odds: Tulane Green Wave +204
Tulane beat Cincinnati, Houston, and UCF to win the AAC last season. Those three teams now play in the Big 12. So Tulane should have an easier time winning the conference this season than last.
QB Michael Pratt is a Heisman Trophy contender. The Green Wave get it done.
Sun Belt Conference
- 2023 College Football Conference Odds: South Alabama Jaguars +260
South Alabama may be the best team in the Sun Belt, but the conference is deep.
Troy, Costal Carolina, Appalachian State, and Marshall will have a say as to which team wins the conference title. There are also squads like Louisiana, Georgia Southern, and Georgia State. At +260 the S. Bama Jags are an underlay.
Mid-American Conference
- 2023 College Football Conference Odds: Toledo Rockets +160
The Rockets should win the MAC. The only team that will challenge Toledo this season are the Ohio Bobcats.
The Bobcats offer +260. If that’s enough of an odds difference to go with Ohio, great. If not, stick with Toledo.
Mountain West Conference
- 2023 College Football Conference Odds: Boise State Broncos +155
Boise State is always a tough team to beat in the Mountain West Conference. However, we should think twice before dumping on the Blue Field Ponies.
Fresno State is a solid program. So is San Diego State and so is Air Force. San Jose State, UNLV, and Wyoming will fight for the title. So at +155, Boise is a play against.
C-USA Conference
- 2023 College Football Conference Odds: Western Kentucky Hilltoppers +136
Liberty, the second choice to win the conference is almost as good as Western Kentucky. The Flames have a great program. Liberty won’t hand the title to Western Kentucky.
Middle Tennessee and Louisiana Tech are a couple of other good programs. The odds make the Hilltoppers an underlay.
Atlantic Coast Conference
- 2023 College Football Conference Odds: Clemson Tigers +165
Clemson shouldn’t be the favorite to win the ACC. The Tigers are searching for a quarterback. Florida State boasts a legit Heisman Trophy contender in Jordan Travis.
Also, FSU’s D might be better than Clemson’s this season. The Seminoles should win the ACC.
Big 12 Conference
- 2023 College Football Conference Odds: Texas Longhorns +115<
Quinn Ewers is a good quarterback. Texas returns enough on offense and defense to get it done. Oklahoma, the second choice, may lose 4 games during the regular season.
So, yes, the Horns are the best play to win the Big 12.
Big Ten Conference
- 2023 College Football Conference Odds: Ohio State Buckeyes +166
Michigan has more to offer than Ohio State this season. It’s difficult to understand why the Buckeyes are the favorites over the Wolverines even though JJ McCarthy returns to play quarterback for Michigan and OSU lost C.J. Stroud.
In addition, the final regular season game between the two rivals happens in Ann Arbor. Michigan is the play to win the Big Ten, not Ohio State.
Pac-12 Conference
- 2023 College Football Conference Odds: USC Trojans +196
USC has enough on both offense and defense to win the Pac-12. But we can’t back the chalk to win the Pac because three other teams have legit chances to win the title.
Utah, Oregon, and Washington can upset USC. At +196, the Trojans are a play against.
Southeastern Conference
- 2023 College Football Conference Odds: Georgia Bulldogs -109<
UGA will be searching for their third straight National Championship. The reason the Dawgs won’t win it again is because their leader, Stetson Bennett, is in the NFL.
The Bulldogs have yet to find their starting quarterback. LSU should beat Alabama and then upset Georgia in the SEC Championship. LSU might be the better overall team than Georgia.
