THE PLAYERS Championship 2023 is the 49th edition of the PGA TOUR-exclusive tournament that is often regarded as the pseudo fifth major tournament of the season. The Stadium Course of TPC Sawgrass has been the venue of the event since 1982; a daunting course for even the most tenured professional golfer.
A massive prize purse worth $25 million is at stake this week in TPC Sawgrass, making it the most lucrative golf tournament to date including the more renowned major tournaments. That total payout is also up from the then-record-setting $20 million prize pool from the previous year.
