Why Bet on the Indiana Pacers?

The Pacers have a healthy lineup save for starting forward Aaron Nesmith and second point guard T.J. McConnell who are both day-to-day. But, the Pacers have depth and the ability to pull off two-way performances that could pressure any playoff contender out there.

On the offensive end, the Pacers sneak their points per game record within the top ten, averaging 115.6 points per game on 46.3% shooting. They could do better from short and mid-range and improve a 53.4% two-point shooting percentage, but document remarkable numbers from deep and from the line. Right now the team hits 37.0% of their shots from downtown and makes 80.0% of their free throws. Tyrese Haliburton leads the team in points, averaging just over 20 points per game, while Benedict Mathurin, Myles Turner, and Buddy Hield all share similar stats with 17 points per game.

Defensively, the Pacers keep opponents under 116.0 points per game on 46.6% shooting. They have a capable three-point defense that holds teams to 36.4% from long range. As for rebounding, the team combines for 50.8 rebounds per game with Myles Turner averaging 7.89 boards per game for his team in 35 appearances.

Why Bet on the Atlanta Hawks?

New York has one of its double-digit scorers on the injury list on Wednesday night. Starting forward RJ Barrett is likely to sit this one out while Quentin Grimes fills in for him. Evan Fournier is also a possible replacement for the position should the 30-year-old Frenchman come out hot.

The Knicks are a defense-heavy team that could easily match what the Pacers have. They limit opponents to 111.3 points per game and have an incredible shooting defense that keeps opponent shooting percentages to around 45%. New York also boasts proper opponent two-point and three-point percentages at 53.3% and 34.2%, respectively. Furthermore, the hosts have the third-best rebounding record at 56.4 total boards per game. Julius Randle takes point here as he lists 10.15 boards per game in 41 appearances.

Tom Thibodeau needs his offense to operate well if they want to keep up with the Pacers here. The squad averages 114.0 points per game on a reasonable 45.5% shooting. They hit 53.0% of their attempts from close and mid-range but struggle to make looks from deep at 33.9%.

Pacers vs. Knicks Expert Betting Prediction

The visitors get the nod here following positive performances in recent weeks. But, they still have to overcome the underdog title here. Covering the spread should be doable for the Pacers, while New York will try to pull away early. Having relatively healthy rosters makes for an interesting matchup as well. The Knicks found their footing as of late despite facing turbulent moments from time to time. They come in as game favorites but don’t overlook the Pacers just yet as the visitors have ample firepower to make the Knicks pay for their errors.
