Home starter Tyler Anderson has a decent 1.13 WHIP and an even more impressive 2.47 ERA. The problem is that Anderson is 5-5, which means the Angels aren’t producing the runs required for Tyler to pick up wins. Still, when Anderson has his stuff working, the Angels play decent ball.

So if you like the Halos, then you must have faith in the Angels’ bullpen. That could be an issue facing a San Diego club that has won 5-of-7. The Padres’ bats have helped their starting pitcher, Matt Waldron, in his last few starts.

The D’Backs have lost 3 of Nelson’s last 4 starts. Ah, but in the win, Arizona beat the mighty Los Angeles Dodgers 6-0 after Nelson tossed 5 innings, gave up 5 hits and no earned runs, walked 3, and struck out 5.

The AZ pitcher could post a similar stat line against the Giants on Monday night. Because of that, and because the Giants aren’t sure at the eleventh hour who they are starting, backing the home squad makes sense.
