Following their recent East finals loss, Tatum said keeping Brown long-term was crucial in their bid for a ring. Tatum said: “He’s one of the best players in this league,” Tatum said. “He plays both ends of the ball and still is relatively young. And he’s accomplished a lot so far in his career. So, I think it’s extremely important.”
Overall, the time he spent in Boston made him a significant component of the lineup’s core. It seems management wasn’t willing to let him walk when his current four-year deal ceases after the upcoming season.
