The Jaguars are on a roll, while the Saints took a stumble in Week 6 against another AFC South opponent. Who’ll come out on top of the latest TNF showdown?

Why Bet on the Jacksonville Jaguars?

Make that three wins in a row now for the Jacksonville Jaguars, who coasted past their AFC South rivals the Indianapolis Colts in Week 6 Sunday, 37-20. With the win, Jacksonville reclaimed sole possession of first place in their division and has looked like a real playoff contender since the team’s two-week trek in London.

Star quarterback Trevor Lawrence threw for two touchdowns and running back Travis Etienne ran for another two scores on the ground, as the Jags finished with their highest-scoring performance of the season to date. However, it’s quite bemusing that they ranked up only 181 yards of offense and still managed to put up 37 points on the scoreboard.

Thankfully, it was the Jaguars’ defense that continued to play at a high level, forcing three Indianapolis turnovers that led to 17 points. No team has managed to score more than 20 points across the Jags’ current three-game win streak, but keeping that trend intact is easier said than done going up against a highly unpredictable New Orleans offense.

After Week 6’s dominant shutout of the Patriots, the New Orleans Saints came up flat once again in Week 6 as they fell in their second straight road game with a 20-13 defeat against the Houston Texans. New Orleans has lost three of its last four contests as the close race for the NFC South title continues to heat up.

Derek Carr took matters through the air often this past Sunday, throwing for over 350 yards. However, Carr only completed 64 percent of his passes for one passing TD and one interception. The Saints dropped 34 points on the Pats the prior week, but suddenly had no answers for a surprisingly strong Houston defense.

On a positive note, the Saints’ defense is still doing its part to keep the boys from the Bayou from spiraling out of control. New Orleans ranks fifth in average yards (287.3 YAPG) and points allowed per contest (16.0 PAPG), while also tying for the second-most interceptions in the season thus far with eight.

There’s just no rhyme or reason concerning the Saints’ consistency on both sides of the ball. That being said, we’re more inclined to side with the Jaguars to win this TNF affair as road underdogs, especially with the Jags’ defense making up for the offense’s slight deficiencies of late.
