Why Bet on the Georgia Bulldogs?

Up until the Kentucky game, Georgia’s D had played well but hadn’t lived up to the billing. That changed versus the Wildcats.

Like the defense, the Bulldogs’ offense had a breakout game versus the then 20-ranked Kentucky Wildcats. UGA’s offense dropped 51 points onto Kentucky’s supposedly good defense.

Quarterback Carson Beck carved up Kentucky’s secondary when throwing for 389 yards and tossing 4 TDs. Tight end Brock Bowers, a Heisman Trophy contender, caught 7 passes for 132 yards and a TD.

Why Bet on the Vanderbilt Commodores?

Vanderbilt’s defense is the worst in the conference. In Vandy’s last 5 games, all losses, the Commodores have yielded 30 or more points.

Wake Forest scored 36 and UNLV 40. When Vanderbilt began their SEC schedule, things got worse. Kentucky dropped 45, Mizzou scored 38, and Florida scored 38.

If there was such a thing as a defensive handicap, Vanderbilt would play defense with 13 players instead of 11.

Vanderbilt’s offense isn’t much better than Vandy’s defense. The overall stats look impressive but that’s because the Commodores offense scored 35 against Hawaii and 47 against Alabama A&M.

Vandy quarterback Ken Seals is giving his all. Seals has thrown a single interception this season to go along with 6 touchdowns and 635 yards. But Seals completes less than 60% of his passes, which tells us Ken is throwing the ball away too many times during games. That means Seals doesn’t have targets to get the ball too.

Vanderbilt has no shot of keeping this close. If UGA wishes, they can win this game 56 or 63 to 0. The only thing standing in Georgia’s way of covering the spread is if Smart shows mercy in the third quarter.
