Atlanta Falcons 2023 Straight-Up Overview
The Falcons finished 7-10 this season. Based on their upcoming record, as well as changes Atlanta made during the offseason, the ATL has a good chance of turning their record from 7-10 to 10-7.
Atlanta’s success starts with Desmond Ridder. If the Cincinnati Bearcat improves as an NFL signal-caller, there’s no telling how far Atlanta will go.
The Falcons drafted Texas running back Bijan Robinson in the first round. Robinson should step onto the field as one of the league’s top ball-carriers in his first NFL game. That’s how much talent Bijan possesses.
Also, wide receiver Drake London is in his second season and tight-end Kyle Pitts should be one-hundred percent. So if Ridder takes a forward step in his second season, the Atlanta Falcons’ offense should move forward big time.
When it comes to the defense, Atlanta made three moves that could make the Falcons D the best in the division. The ATL signed David Onyemata away from the Saints to play nose tackle. Jeff Okudah comes over from the Lions to play corner and Bud Dupree signed with Atlanta from Tennessee to play strongside linebacker.
All three improves what was a decent defense in 2022. If the offense and defense come together for Atlanta, the Falcons should lose no more than 7 games. The for sure losses should be at Detroit, versus Jacksonville, versus New Orleans, at NYJ, at Carolina, at Chicago and at New Orleans.
Some of those loses could go in Atlanta’s favor. So our 10-7 straight up prediction is tepid.

The Falcons went 9-8 against the spread last season. Atlanta will do much better straight up in 2023. There’s a chance Atlanta also does better against the spread.
