NFL Week 3 provides its fair share of sleeper picks. One of the most obvious happens when Atlanta faces off against the Lions in Detroit. The 2-0 Falcons are a +4 spread line underdog. So the straight up odds on the ATL are more than fair. Also in NFL Week 3, the Saints are a dog on the road versus Green Bay, the Vikings are slight underdogs at home against the Chargers, and D.C. is a +230 money line dog to win straight up against Josh Allen and the Bills. Atlanta Falcons vs. Detroit Lions
- When: Sunday, September 24th, 2023. 1:00pm EST.
- Where: Ford Field, Detroit, MIY
- NFL Odds: Falcons (+149) // Lions (-185)
The Detroit Lions played well enough to beat the Seattle Seahawks in NFL Week 2. But the Lions couldn’t close the deal, and Geno Smith led the Seahawks to an overtime victory.
On Sunday, things don’t get easier for Detroit. For starters, they must play this game without their best running back, David Montgomery. Montgomery is a banger who can pick up tough yards. Without Montgomery, Jahmyr Gibbs must step it up, which will be difficult because the Falcons have a decent defense.
When it comes to the Lions defending against Atlanta, the road team has the edge. Bijan Robinson is already one of the best running backs in the NFL. QB Desmond Ridder is clicking with his receivers. Atlanta can pull off the SU upset win.

New Orleans Saints vs. Green Bay Packers

- NFL Odds: Saints (+106) // Packers (-2.5)
For the second straight week, Jordan Love played great football. Green Bay, though, couldn’t prevent an Atlanta rally. The game happened in the ATL. This game happens in Wisconsin. So Green Bay, for sure, should be the chalk.
Love, though, faces a fantastic defense. Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore can go man-to-man against any of Green Bay’s wideouts. Almost as important, Derek Carr has developed a rapport with both comeback player of the year candidate Michael Thomas and second year pro Chris Olave. If the Saints get anything going on the ground, they should go home to Louisiana with a win.
2023 NFL Week 3 Pick: New Orleans Saints
Los Angeles Chargers vs. Minnesota Vikings

- Where: U.S. Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, MN
- NFL Odds: Chargers (-111) // Vikings (-111)
The Vikings are a +0.5 home underdog against the spread, which is why Minnesota offers -107 on the money line. At -107, the Vikings should be at the top of every straight-up player’s NFL Week 3 list.
The Vikes get the Bolts at home. Home field gives Kirk Cousins and Justin Jefferson a huge edge. Almost as important is that the Chargers have blown games against Miami and Tennessee in two straight. When it comes to coaching, it’s preferable to back Minnesota’s Kevin O’Connell over the Bolts’ Brandon Staley.

Buffalo Bills vs. Washington Commanders

If you take a close look at the Bills’ blowout victory over the Raiders in NFL Week 2, it’s obvious what happened. Buffalo wore down the Raiders’ defense because the Raiders’ offense couldn’t move the ball.
Eventually, like they often do, Vegas threw in the towel. Allen and his mates face a different team on Sunday, one with grit and heart. D.C. rallied down 21-3 to upset the Broncos on the road. Washington gets Buffalo at FedEx Field and the D-Line will cause Allen a lot of problems.
2023 NFL Week 3 Pick: Washington Commanders
Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Las Vegas Raiders

- Where: Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas, NV
- NFL Odds: Steelers (+111) // Raiders (-130)
The Steelers have a Monday night game against the Cleveland Browns. No matter what happens in that contest, Vegas is the pick to win on Sunday.
Pittsburgh is the more quality franchise, but the Raiders take on the Steeles on their field. Vegas bounced in their second game against Buffalo. If Vegas plays the way they did versus the Broncos in NFL Week 1, they win this.
2023 NFL Week 3 Pick: Las Vegas Raiders
Philadelphia Eagles vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

- Where: Raymond James Stadium, Tampa, FL
- NFL Odds: Eagles (-6.5) // Buccaneers (+6.5)
The Eagles got their offense going against the Minnesota Vikings in NFL Week 2. But in NFL Week 3, the Philly Birds tackle a team with a great defense and a decent quarterback.
Buccaneers’ QB Baker Mayfield has yet to throw an interception. He’s playing excellent football. Versus the Bears, Baker threw for over 300 yards and a TD.
