Dolphins snap win streak with an upset by the (+3) home dogs Jets
We’ve recently gone in-depth with our preview of this Week 11 matchup, stating that Miami’s two-game win streak is in jeopardy considering that the Jets’ two wins have come on their home turf. There are also lingering concerns about the injured finger on Tua Tagovailoa’s throwing hand to keep us from believing that the Dolphins are back for real.
A little more clarity about New York’s own QB situation will go a long way towards making a more confident wager for the team pulling off another upset. If Joe Flacco gets the starting nod over Mike White (four INTs in Week 11 versus Buffalo), the Jets could be celebrating their third home win in five games this season.
Lions stay competitive and cover (+10) versus inconsistent Browns
The Lions don’t have the benefit of having home-field advantage in Week 10, but their next opponent is coming off its worst defeat of the season. The Browns were just humiliated by Bill Belichick’s Patriots to the tune of a 45-7 rout in Foxborough and might start backup QB Case Keenum this week if Baker Mayfield’s knee injury is worse than they imagined.
We’re not predicting an outright win for Detroit. Although, their tie game this past week against another AFC North contender in Pittsburgh leads us to believe that the team will do enough to cover the spread at the very least. On top of that, the Lions are actually 5-4 against the spread this season despite their winless record.
Resurgent Cowboys with a huge road win over (-2.5) favorites Chiefs
Another team hot off a 40-point explosion in Week 11 is Dallas, which made the Falcons look foolish with a 43-3 win in Arlington. While Arrowhead is a tough place to win for any road team, Kansas City is actually 0-9 at home against the spread dating back to November 8 of the previous year.
