Why Bet on the Vegas Vipers?

The Week 3 matchup between the Vegas Vipers and Seattle Sea Dragons was one of the best games of the season. Unfortunately for the Vipers, they were on the losing end of this contest as Sea Dragons escaped with a 30-26 victory thanks to a 65-yard go-ahead touchdown score by Seattle receiver Josh Gordon.

Vegas was outdone by Seattle’s tandem of former NFL players Gordon and quarterback Ben DiNucci, whereas the team’s own mix of former high-profile NFL talent fail to gel with one another. Former Packers QB Brett Hundley is doing all he can with his arm and even his feet at times but has yet to garner better rapport with his wideouts Martavis Bryant and Geronimo Allison.

On the bright side, the Vipers did manage to score more than 20 points for the first time this season with Hundley playing much better of late. Then again, their run defense is still very suspect, allowing an average of over 150 rushing yards to their opponents this season.

Why Bet on the DC Defenders?

In a tense battle for division supremacy, the DC Defenders stood tall in their Week 3 homestand against the St. Louis Battlehawks, 34-28. The Defenders’ 34 points is the most scored by any team in a single game this season as they also improve to 3-0 for the campaign.

Quarterback Jordan Ta’amu had his most well-rounded performance of the young season, throwing for 196 yards and a passing TD and also running for 22 yards and another score on the ground. Coupled with the two-headed backfield of Ryquell Armstead and Abram Smith, DC’s ground attack is second to none in the XFL.

It’s worth remembering that the Defenders trampled over the Vipers in Week 2 to the tune of 229 rushing yards and a pair of rushing touchdowns. With the rematch taking place in the District of Columbia, it’s clear that DC has the edge this coming Sunday night.

Vegas Vipers vs. DC Defenders Expert Betting Predictions

Although a six-point spread is relatively huge considering that the XFL has delivered one close call after another, there’s no escaping the fact that the Defenders are in line for another blowout win. DC already has recent history on its side having defeated the Vipers just a couple of weeks ago, and Vegas did little to convince us that the team has improved since.
