The 2023 Valspar Championship is the final tournament played in the Sunshine State during the PGA TOUR’s annual Florida Swing and its origins date back to the year 2000 when it debuted as the Tampa Bay Classic. Paint manufacturing giant Valspar has sponsored the event since 2014.
A huge prize purse worth $8.1 million is at stake this week in Innisbrook, which is a slight increase from the $7.8 million total payout from last year’s edition of the tournament. This is also in line with the PGA TOUR’s continued support of increasing their prize purses across the board for the past couple of seasons.
