Davis Riley and Sam Burns threw down in a playoff after both shot a -17. Burns came out ahead to win the winner’s share of the purse. Riley finished second.
Two players tied for third at -16, Matthew NeSmith and this year’s favorite, Justin Thomas. Matthew Fitzpatrick tied with Brian Harman for for fifth at -14.
Five players tied for seventh at -12: Stewart Cink, Adam Hadwin, Robert Streb, Kevin Streelman, and Sahith Theegala.

Don’t you get the feeling Justin Thomas is targeting this event? Thomas isn’t playing great golf. The top choice finished a tied sixtieth at The Players Championship. But Thomas knows this course well. He was on the cusp of a victory last season.
So if he plays back to the fourth he posted at the WM Phoenix Open, it should be enough for Justin to score the win.

Last year’s titlist is back on the path to playing his best golf. After a tied sixth at the WM Phoenix Open, Sam Burns missed the cut at the Genesis Invitational and the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
At TPC-Sawgrass, Burns finished a tied thirty-fifth. The finish could be a sign that Burns’ sticks have come around.
Last year, Burns shot a 64-67-69-69. A repeat effort isn’t out of the question. So if you want to back a player at a better number than JT’s, consider going with Sam.

Like Thomas, Matt Fitzpatrick is looking to use the Valspar Championship to return to his best form. Matt has an interesting missed cut, make the cut pattern.

Matt finished a tied twenty-ninth at the Phoenix Open, missed the cut at the Genesis, and finished a tied fourteenth at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Fitzpatrick missed the cut at The Players Championship.
He shot well over this course and if the pattern holds, who knows? Maybe, Fitz lifts the Valspar trophy.

Harman played great at last season’s Valspar Championship. The top underdog choice shot a 67- 67-68-68.
Brian isn’t playing well. He finished a tied forty-fourth at TPC-Sawgrass. Before The Players Championship, Harman had missed the cut at both the Genesis and the Arnold Palmer.
However, Harman knows this course well. If you want to back a big time dog, Harman for sure is worth a look at the odds.
